A View To A Kill

The first movie I'll be recommending is "A View to a Kill". Released in 1985 and directed by John Glen, "A View to a Kill" is Bond's 14th cinematic adventure (15th if you count "Never Say Never Again", I'm not enough of a Bond-head to know how the canon works). Going into this viewing I had a mental picture of James Bond that fit much more with Daniel Craig's portrayal in the current Bond run, Roger Moore doesn't fit this mental picture. Moore seems more interested in being smooth than saving the world, although he'll definitely do that too. He's obviously too old for the part, which is mostly charming other than when Bond engages in romance with the much younger women that have been written to desire him so, so much. I would go more into the details and oddities that make me love this movie, but I honestly think there's more value in watching the movie than reading about it. I will say, look out for a young Christopher Walken playing Max Zorin, the weird energy he brings offers a great snapshot of what makes this movie such a fun watch.
